Who I am

Capes is a brand of Creative Apes Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company no. 06283751. Creative Apes Ltd is responsible for the personal data described here.

If you email me

I get your name, your email address and whatever you choose to tell me. I use it to reply to you and, if we work together, to do that work. I rely on my legitimate interest in answering enquiries, and on taking steps towards a contract when you ask me to.

I don’t sell your details, share them for marketing or add you to a mailing list. My email is provided by Google Workspace, which stores messages on my behalf. I keep messages only as long as I need them for these purposes, then delete them.

When you visit the site

The site sets no cookies unless you agree to analytics. Netlify, which hosts it, keeps standard server logs, such as your IP address and browser, to run the site and keep it secure.

Analytics

When you first visit, a small box asks if I can count your visit. If you say yes, I use Google Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found the site. It sets cookies whose names start with _ga, which last up to two years, and Google receives your IP address and details of your browser and device. Google may handle this data outside the UK. I rely on your consent for this.

If you say no, nothing loads from Google. Your answer is kept in your browser’s storage, not in a cookie. You can change it at any time, and saying no removes the analytics cookies.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete what I hold about you, or object to how I use it. Email me at the address in the contact section. If you’re unhappy with my answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
